Bio Pappel
We are a leading, international company in the production of paper and packaging in North America with an efficient production and distribution network in Mexico, the United States and Canada.
Bio Pappel emerged in the 80’s as a small sawmill in Durango, Mexico, with annual sales of 12 million dollars and a powerful dream of integration and growth.
Since then, the company has efficiently integrated and developed strong brands in the market to become a global paper company with combined annual sales of US$3 billion and a robust financial structure.
Thanks to a visionary circular sustainability model supported by large investments in technology, Bio Pappel made it possible to replace the intensive use of wood with an URBAN FOREST meaning large-scale paper recycling.
This opens a new cycle for what once seemed unchangeable… and gives nature a break in its natural role. Therefore, producing paper doesn’t come at the cost of our natural environment
… and the forests will continue to capture CARBON DIOXIDE producing OXYGEN and WATER, as seen in the preservation of Mexico´s San Rafael Forest, one of the largest forest reserves in the country.

Sustainable Future
Thanks to a visionary circular sustainability model supported by large investments in technology, Bio Pappel made it possible to replace the intensive use of wood with an URBAN FOREST meaning large-scale paper recycling.
This opens a new cycle for what once seemed unchangeable … and gives nature a break in its natural role.
Therefore, producing paper doesn´t come at the cost of our natural environment
…and the forests will continue to capture CARBON DIOXIDE producing OXYGEN and WATER, as seen in the preservation of Mexico´s San Rafael Forest, one of the largest forest reserves in the country.
Bio Pappel is not only a paper company that does not cut trees, it is also an efficient clean energy company with infrastructure in gas pipelines and state-of-the-art cogeneration plants in which it cogenerates its own green energy making use of its industrial processes to boost modern gas turbines; therefore, achieving the energy self-sufficiency of our productive platform, which translates into one of the best ENERGY FOOTPRINTS in the paper industry.
Bio Pappel’s Circular Economy model allows it to recycle the water from its industrial processes, allowing it to have one of the lowest water consumption rates per ton of paper produced in the industry.
Together with its clients and suppliers, Bio Pappel has developed an efficient sustainable supply chain that allows it to promote a low-carbon green economy capturing eight times more carbon than it emits in its industrial processes, which signifies eliminating 5.7 million tons of carbon dioxide annually, equivalent to that emitted by a million compact cars circulating in a year!
